Saved by my blog post
I have long believed that you are tested by what you say. It happened to me live and I want to share my experience with you. A day earlier I wrote the post leave no stone unturned about how I had stifled my opportunities because I made assumptions without turning all the stones. Then I was tested the next day about what I wrote.
What happened?
I had registered for a promotional service with my telecom service provider. But with this service I usually finish my allocated voice credit before the end of the 30-day validity period. Since it is much more costly to be on the normal service till the end of the validity period so that I can renew the service, I normally unsubscribe from the service immediately my credit is used up and resubscribe so that I can continue to enjoy the benefits. However, after my last subscription, the telecom service company announced that they were going to stop new subscriptions to that service. The implication of this was that if I unsubscribed from the service, I would not be able to subscribe again. Note that even though the company had many other promotional services, this one was the most cost-effective for me and I did not want to move away from it.
How did I overcome this problem?
I called the company’s customer service and was advised to obtain a different SIM card and use it to subscribe to a different promotional service that was, of course, better than the normal service, until the validity period of my first subscription was over so I could then renew the subscription. So off I went to the customer service office.
What happened from then?
Bet you are eager to know. OK, read on: As I spoke to the customer service personnel, I started to think about the kind of phone number I was going to be given. I had so many phone numbers, usernames, passwords and PINs to remember, and would love to have a phone number that I could easily remember. However, the phone number that was going to be issued to me, as I discovered, did not match this description. I also noticed that the phone number started with a new code that the company had introduced. At this point, a solution occurred to me. I thought, “Why don’t I just add the last seven (7) digits in my old phone number to the new code and make it my new phone number?” You know what? This solution nearly slipped by me because I hesitated. I thought, “Telecom companies only do this when they are launching their operations and ask people to reserve their phone numbers. This cannot happen since this company has operated for years.” But upon remembering what I wrote in my blog the day before, I made up my mind to ask (I decided not to leave any stone unturned), nothing was impossible. Guess what? It was possible, and the new phone number was issued to me in the format I described above.
Your take home
You see? I would have kicked myself if I had not asked. Well, that is how I was saved by my blog post. You might also want to be saved by your blog post one day. If so start blogging today. Now, answer me frankly: can you say convincingly that there is no chance that you can make lots of money here? No, of course, you can’t say that, so grab it!!!I hope you leave no stone unturned in your struggle against the odds of life.
